For airline pilots Hong Kong’s Kai Tak International Airport, Hong Kong was among the many most difficult airplane landings on the planet. It used to be known as stand by and operated up into the 90’s, but then sometime round 1995 (I believe) there was a restriction brought in. During my holidays from Uni in 1992 myself and a crew mate went to Dublin Airport and bought an Aer Lingus flight to London for the princely sum of £10 plus taxes. Perhaps the taxes and rental end in higher retail costs compared to on-line prices.
I used to be again recently for three and half days, and it rained non-stop for the primary 24 hours, then it fogged in. It cleared as I was heading the airport to return home. Details: The aircraft was hijacked shortly after it took off from Logan Worldwide Airport in Boston, when the hijackers took management of the aircraft and deliberately crashed it into the north tower of the World Trade Center between the 94th and 99th floors at approximately 450 mph.
